Y’all,

Today Donald Trump is being sworn into office. 

The next four years of his reign will not be easy, but I know that Texas Democrats are ready to fight for the safety of our communities.

The strength of our Party is not about any single individual. Everyone has a place, a chance to join us and help us build a state and country that stands for justice and equality no matter who you are or where you come from.

I don’t know what the future holds. I don’t know what Trump and his cronies will do, or say. 

I do know that they will try to divide us. I know they will try to further policies that hurt the many and only help the top. 

I know we have the power to do something about whatever Trump throws at us.

But I know that as long as we’re in this together, we can fight for a Texas that serves and protects all Texans.

Y’all can we count on you to join us so we can continue our movement to fight for a Texas that honors our human dignity? This is bigger than you and I, and it’s going to take every single one of us to fight for the future we know is possible.

As the attacks on our democracy, our bodies, and our livelihoods continue – so does our fight to protect all Texans. 

United, we will continue to build the Texas we all believe in.
