[link removed] [[link removed]] I understand that, for many of you, today feels like a bleak day. Under the new presidential administration, I know that we will face unprecedented challenges in the years ahead when it comes to protecting the fundamental freedoms we hold dear.
But I want to emphasize that I am not backing down from my values — and I hope you won’t either.
I know that I have a unique voice as Kansas’ only Democratic representative in Washington. And I have a duty to use that voice in Congress to stand up to extremism, defend our rights, and advocate for common sense over petty politics.
I’ve never believed that politics should only be about stopping your opponents and nothing more. It’s about bringing people together to effect change and building a better future for the next generation. While I hope the new administration is as committed to those values as I am, please know that I will be fighting for them every single day for as long as I have the privilege of serving as your Congresswoman.
No matter what lies ahead for our state and our country, I remain committed to the work that the people of Kansas elected me to do: Bringing resources and results back to families and communities across the Third District.
Finally, I wanted to say thank you one last time for your continued support. I am immensely grateful to have you on this team as we take on the challenges ahead of us. Together, we’ll be ready for whatever’s next.
