Today, Inauguration Day, is a frightening day for the future of reproductive freedom in Minnesota and across the country. Donald Trump returns to office for a second term, in a direct threat to bodily autonomy, dignity, and our ability to make meaningful choices about our futures. 

With Trump’s return to office, he brings with him unchecked misogyny and a complete disregard for the suffering caused by cruel abortion bans. With his support, anti-choice extremists will attempt to pass a national abortion ban. Since the news of his re-election, anti-choice extremists have already been hard at work challenging access to abortion medication, channeling funding to fake clinics, also known as crisis pregnancy centers, and laying the groundwork for legal challenges in states where abortion is already protected. 

We’ll be direct. We must be prepared for an intense and grueling battle to defend our reproductive rights against powerful and organized anti-choice extremists. Now is not the time to disengage or let ourselves be driven by fear.
