Today, January 20, 2025, marks the start of Donald Trump’s second presidential term in Washington.

Moments ago, he stood in the Capitol Rotunda to officially take the oath of office and become the 47th President.

He took the same oath he took in 2017, in which he promised to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States — a promise he broke during an attempt to overturn a free and fair election by inciting a violent insurrection on the Capitol.

Today, we begin a new era of Donald Trump in Washington. One defined by a Republican trifecta in Congress and a new promise: to slash federal agencies, cut funding to critical programs like Medicare, and continue his barrage of attacks on our fundamental freedoms.

Now more than ever, we must stand firmly against Donald Trump’s attempt to take us back and undo the progress we’ve fought so hard to achieve.
