It's official: Donald Trump is being sworn in as President of the United States. And while this is not the outcome we wanted, it does mean that many will be leaving their current positions to take on new roles in the administration. And that means we must be ready for special elections, especially those that could help secure a pro-equality majority in the U.S. House.

Right now, Victory Fund is preparing to increase LGBTQ+ representation in the U.S. Congress by identify and supporting LGBTQ+ candidates in these special elections. If the last couple weeks haven't made it clear, we need LGBTQ+ voices at all levels of government - and we need to ensure LGBTQ+ rights aren't up for debate in the U.S. House. Bigots in the U.S. House might have a razor-thin majority, but they've already used it to pass a bill targeting trans kids. Speaker Johnson has made it clear he's going to use his majority to force through anti-LGBTQ legislation and promote bills like "Don't Say Gay", enforce more book bans and even pass a national bathroom bill. It's hateful!
