Now that Donald Trump is officially in office, he’ll finally be able to make good on his threats to throw me in jail.

I know that sounds crazy, but it’s the truth.

He has repeatedly stated that he wants to jail me and the rest of the January 6th Committee for our work.

But I won't be bullied by Donald Trump. I’m very proud of my work on the January 6th Committee and I refuse to be bullied into neglecting my oath to protect the Constitution and our democracy.

His MAGA enforcers in the House have already conducted a partisan investigation into the January 6th Committee and said that Liz Cheney be prosecuted.

They’ve shown that they intend to be a rubber stamp for Trump’s dangerous agenda and fascist schemes.

Now more than ever, we need to build the resources to combat the GOP so that we can respond at a moment's notice to their disastrous plans.

The man who plotted to overturn the 2020 Election results and incited an armed insurrection on January 6th, 2021 is back in the Oval Office.

Just thinking those words makes my stomach turn.

As a member of the January 6th Committee and a member of Congress who was in the Capitol that day, I know firsthand how dangerous Trump can be and the lengths he'll go to maintain power.

He has already nominated extremists like Pete Hegseth, threatened to jail me and the rest of the January 6th Committee, and taken advice from billionaires like Elon Musk on gutting our social programs and government agencies.

He plans to send our country hurtling back to the past and roll back decades worth of progress we’ve given our blood, sweat, and tears to make.
