Trump must be held responsible for his impeachable offenses that have occurred or will be occurring in the days to come. These include violating the Emoluments Clause immediately upon his inauguration; threatening physical violence, including murder, against political opponents, journalists, and protestors; using racist, xenophobic rhetoric that has endangered immigrant communities; and violating campaign finance laws by offering benefits in exchange for campaign contributions. Further, Congress must be prepared to expand its investigation as necessary if Trump undertakes the numerous impeachable actions that he has threatened to carry out once he takes office.
Trump is not a monarch. He is beholden to the Constitution, as is Congress. And as the Founders understood, if we are to preserve our democracy for the people, then Congress has a duty to investigate and, if necessary, remove a corrupt executive.
Tell Congress: Impeach Trump. Again.
