Friend — Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a day celebrating a leader who devoted his life to promoting and protecting civil rights for all people. Yet today, with Donald Trump’s inauguration, that civil rights work is in jeopardy. We need all hands on deck to protect our environment and our democracy for all.

Access to clean air, clean water, and participation in the democratic process should be a civil right afforded to all. But Trump is promising an onslaught of executive actions over the next few days to overturn environmental protections that keep our communities safe, throw open public lands and waters to drilling and mining operations, reverse progress to make voting more accessible to all citizens, and allow more climate- and health-harming pollution into the air we breathe and the water we drink. These harmful proposals will be most immediately damaging to low-wealth communities and communities of color who are already experiencing disproportionate harm from pollution, voter suppression, and climate change.

LCV’s Membership Drive is happening right now. This fundraising campaign determines how far we can go to stop Trump’s actions, right now and for all of 2025. For a limited time, a group of donors has agreed to TRIPLE MATCH all gifts, which means your support can go 3X as far to protect the environment and our democracy.

Here’s where our Membership Drive stands right now:
We’ve fought Trump’s dirty agenda before… and won real progress for people and the planet. During his first term, our movement blocked harmful pipelines, saved public lands, and pushed forward clean energy, EVEN with Trump in office. And we were able to protect our environment thanks to support from people like YOU, Friend.
To defend our progress and do even more in 2025, we really need to raise $50,000 before this triple match offer expires on January 31. If everyone reading this right now were to pitch in, we’d blow through that goal in minutes.
Thanks for standing with us, Friend. It’s because of people like you that we’re able to keep fighting to protect people, our rights, and our planet.
