Friends and Comrades-
This is a difficult and confounding day for many. It is a day for remembering the true radical legacy of Martin Luther King Jr, all while a new president, whose incoming administration is already threatening the lives and livelihoods of the most vulnerable in our society, will be sworn into office. We recommend remembering and honoring Dr. King by reading some of his radical work and by showing all the capitalists who wield power in this country that the blatant facism, racism, and pro-billionaire agenda of the incoming administration is unacceptable.

Come for the rally and stay for the Peoples Assemblies, where we will break away into small groups to connect with activists who organize for immigrant rights, save the planet from capitalism, end the housing crisis, and more!
The rally will start at 2pm at Robinson Park (810 Copper Ave NW) in Albuquerque.

YUCCA has been doing amazing work on climate justice for years now, Please see their message below:
Right now, our communities are facing rising temperatures, dangerous pollution, historic drought, and unprecedented extreme weather - while oil and gas companies rake in billions and our lawmakers sit idly by.
This can’t continue. Join us at 9:00 am on Tuesday, January 21st outside the New Mexico State Capitol on the Opening Day of the 2025 Legislative Session to demand that our legislators take action to pass bold, ambitious climate policies that will advance our clean energy goals, center the needs of frontline communities, and address the urgency of the climate crisis.

Support Tenants' Rights at the Legislature!

Like the rest of the country, New Mexico desperately needs to prioritize housing justice for the working class. Senator Linda Lopez is introducing two bills this 2025 legislative session to do just that: one to end the prohibition on rent control and another that would require landlords to provide receipts when tenants pay rent.
If you'd like to hear more about these bills and other issues relating to affordable housing, please join the People's Housing Project for their Press Conference this Saturday, January 25th at 11am in Santa Fe at the Roundhouse.

Our friends at Burrito Brigade Mutual Aid have been doing amazing work feeding free breakfast to dozens every Sunday morning, along with distributing sleeping bags and other cold-weather essentials to the unhoused. In fact, they just served their 500th burrito this weekend!
If you'd like to get involved you can contact Burrito Brigade at [email protected]. If you would like to pitch in with resources, you can donate to our mutual aid fund.

DSA depends on support from ordinary members, rather than corporate funding or grants. As we ramp up our campaigns to take on the millionaire and billionaire class in New Mexico, any donations you can provide will go a long way.
