📬 Trump re-enters the White House: closer UK-EU relations must follow.

Hi John,

Today Donald Trump has become President of the United States for a second time. I am sure that for many of you, as for me, this was not the outcome we desired. For those of us who value individual rights, equality and internationalism, today may feel like a dark day.

Whilst we will not be responding live to the inauguration later, we cannot avoid the fact that a Trump presidency has arrived. We may wish that we could, but you and I both understand that the stakes are too high for that to be an option.

With the threat of tariffs, the potential withdrawal of U.S. support from NATO and Ukraine, and an emboldened Reform UK party, now is the time to knuckle down and fight harder than ever for a closer relationship with the EU.
