I wished with all of my heart that this day would never come. Like you, I did everything I could to prevent it.

But later today, at 12 noon EST, Donald Trump will once again be sworn in as President of the United States.

The moment that happens, the entire progressive movement and everything we care about will be in existential danger.

House Republicans have already passed legislation that would allow the administration to strip the nonprofit status of groups that resist his agenda with the stroke of a pen. Trump’s pick for FBI director has an enemies list he plans to investigate. And the Supreme Court has given Trump sweeping immunity from prosecution for crimes committed while in office.

Inequality Media was on the front lines battling Trump’s agenda the first time around, and we’re building an even bigger and more effective team to fight back this time.

But none of our work is possible without your generous support, and we’ve set an Inauguration Day goal of raising $50,000 by midnight tonight to stand up to Trump and help defeat the most damaging parts of his Project 2025 agenda.

Under Donald Trump’s Project 2025 agenda, the most vulnerable in our society will be under relentless attack, from immigrants to trans kids to women needing abortion care to seniors struggling to pay for prescription drugs.

Elon Musk, the richest person in the world, has been put in charge of rewriting the federal budget, starting with gutting Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare.

Meanwhile, Trump is aiming to shut down dissent by threatening to strip the broadcast licenses from news outlets that challenge him and defund NPR and PBS. Further, social media tycoons like Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have embraced MAGA and eliminated restrictions on disinformation and hate speech on their platforms.

In the face of these threats, Inequality Media is launching a raft of new initiatives to make sure we can keep getting the truth out, break through the ever-changing social media ecosystem, and reverse America’s slide toward authoritarianism.

Here’s some of what we have planned:

• We’ll move fast to grow our audience on emerging platforms such as Bluesky, where we’ve gone from 30,000 followers to nearly half a million in just two months.
• We’ll distribute our most persuadable videos on “connected TV” devices, such as Roku.
• We’ll produce more videos tailored to platforms like Instagram and Snapchat, meeting young people where they are and making complex issues more accessible.
• We’ll develop more educational resources for schools, helping the next generation better understand civics and the economic and political forces shaping their lives.

Friends, the next four years will be an existential fight for the survival of democracy. But we’ve fought through dark days before, and I believe we can do it again — if we work together and pitch in.
