I know this wasn’t the outcome we hoped for after a hard-fought campaign, but it’s a reality we must confront together.
Because the truth is the MAGA movement is more emboldened than ever – and its efforts to undermine free and fair elections extend far beyond Trump.
In just the past week, we’ve already seen the consequences of Trump’s win…
- In North Carolina, Republicans are trying to overturn Democratic incumbent Allison Riggs’ election after she emerged with a narrow 734-vote lead.
- In Minnesota, Republicans defied the Secretary of State and illegally elected a Speaker of the state House.
- And in Georgia, a far-right MAGA lawmaker was arrested after forcing his way into the chamber despite being banned.
We’re now in a democracy-defining election cycle, and I'm not exaggerating when I say our last line of defense is Democratic Secretaries of State and election officials who are committed to safeguarding the integrity of our elections.
But they can’t do it alone. The MAGA movement is already pouring resources into efforts to undermine them at every turn. That’s why it’s critical for us to act now.
