Friend, before Donald Trump takes the oath of office today to begin his second term in the White House, I wanted to personally share my steadfast promise to you:
I know that this moment and the future are filled with uncertainty. But if there's anything you can count on, it's that I will wake up every single morning and fight my heart out for you and your family.
That means taking on the issues that matter most: expanding access to affordable health care, supporting our unions, bringing down everyday costs like groceries and protecting vital federal programs like Social Security and Medicare. When it comes to all of these and more, I have a proven track record of making progress by working across the aisle, and I'm ready to do it again in the months and years ahead.
It also means holding this administration accountable and being an unrelenting force against the worst parts of their agenda. During the Senate confirmation hearings for both secretary of defense and CIA director, I spoke out about my concerns with Trump's nominees — from Pete Hegseth's treatment of women to John Ratcliffe's ability to handle intelligence that would help us prepare for a future pandemic. I will work with them to achieve our goals but won't hesitate to hold them to account when necessary over the next four years.
When it comes to the next four years, I'm ready to face whatever comes our way head-on to serve all New Yorkers and all Americans. And as the new chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, I'll also be laser-focused on taking back our Senate majority so we can defend working American families from this administration's extremist policies.
I'll be honest with you: The fights ahead of us won't be easy. And the only way we can win them is if we're fighting them together. So if you're able to give today, I hope you'll pitch in what you can to fuel my fight to hold the Trump administration accountable, continue making progress for you and your family and to take back the Senate for Democrats.

With gratitude, love and fierce determination,
Kirsten
