Today is a hard day for many of us. In a democracy, it’s our duty to accept the results of our free and fair elections. And that means accepting that Donald Trump today assumes the position of President of the United States. But that doesn’t take away the pain and fear that so many Americans are feeling today. Trump and his allies in Congress campaigned explicitly on promises that will make life worse for working families — slashing Medicare and Medicaid to fund massive tax cuts for the wealthy, attacking abortion, discriminating against LGBTQ Americans, and taking funding away from public schools. It’s so important to remember: We still have the power to fight back – and I’m ready to stand on the frontlines to defend Oregon families. I’ve spent my career fighting to make life easier for working people — and fighting for progress on the biggest challenges our communities face, and I’m not going to stop now. I will seize every possible opportunity for bipartisan solutions — and I will do everything I can to stand up for Oregon when your rights, your freedoms, or your livelihood comes under attack.
Thanks, Andrea |
