⚠️⚠️ INAUGURATION DAY EMERGENCY MATCH: ENDS AT MIDNIGHT ⚠️⚠️

Dear John,

I know today is difficult for many of us. But today is a day for fierce determination.
Today is a day to remember that progress is always, always worth fighting for. Today is a day when we recommit to doing absolutely everything we can to protect and expand gender justice for the next four years and beyond, no matter what is thrown our way.

Become a National Women’s Law Center member with a monthly gift right now to defend access to abortion and birth control, keep LGBTQIA+ kids safe in school, and safeguard our rights. [[link removed]] Until midnight tonight, a generous donor has offered to match your first month's gift, so your support can make an even bigger impact.
There’s a phrase you often hear in January, at the start of the new year: Begin how you mean to go on.
We are going to begin by showing up right now, today, undaunted. There is no question that an emboldened Trump administration and its allies are going to do everything they can to continue to attack our rights, control our bodies, and prioritize businesses and billionaires over women and families.
They are counting on us to be too overwhelmed, too hopeless, to keep fighting when the odds may seem stacked against us. But I know NWLC, I know our supporters, and I know we won’t stop.
Let’s show them that we won’t ever back down when our rights and futures are on the line. John, make your MATCHED monthly membership gift before midnight tonight. Every dollar we raise right fnow will make our work stronger and more effective in the months to come. [[link removed]]
When NWLC was founded more than 50 years ago, women couldn’t open credit cards without a man’s signature. Marriage between same-sex couples was illegal in every state. Roe v. Wade was not yet law. That daunting reality didn’t discourage us—in fact, it was the fuel that drove the founding of this organization. We were built to fight for a world that did not yet exist.
That’s exactly what we’ve done since 1972, and it is what we will continue to do in the days and weeks to come. Our team of lawyers, storytellers, and policy advocates has been here before, and we are not afraid.

Your monthly membership gift today will help us protect the progress we’ve made, and continue fighting for the more just, equitable future you and I know is possible.

[[link removed]] Until midnight today, we have a special $5,000 match, so please—make your gift right now, when your impact can go even further.
If there’s anything the past 50 years of NWLC has shown me, it’s that when people who are committed to progress keep pushing forward, we are a force that cannot be stopped. That progress may sometimes be slow, and it may not always be steady, but every victory we win, every harm that we prevent, takes us one step closer to a more just, equitable future for all.

Let’s keep pushing toward that future, together. Onward!

In solidarity,

Fatima Goss Graves
