Today, a dangerous, anti-choice president has taken office, and we want to be clear about one thing: This is not a time to fear. This is a time to act.

Here is what we know:

❌ Trump is not going to stop at just pushing the buck back to the states. Through Project 2025, it’s clear that the Republican party hopes to reverse the FDA’s decision on approval of mifepristone, a drug used in medication abortion, and encourage denials of emergency abortion care.

He helped facilitate the overturning of Roe v. Wade during his first term – and we can only expect that he will continue the attacks over the next four years.

❌ Trump’s opinions are easily swayed by those around him, and we need protections on the books to protect access to reproductive care and contraception.

We must move FAST to protect reproductive rights in Virginia, and we have a plan:

In November 2025, Virginia voters will head to the polls to elect a Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, and the entire House of Delegates. The outcome of these elections will be critical in determining the future of reproductive rights in the state. If pro-choice leadership remains in control of the House of Delegates, we will be a step closer to getting an amendment to enshrine abortion rights in our state constitution on the ballot in 2026 without needing the Governor’s approval.

While there is nothing we can do now to stop Donald Trump’s power-hungry tyranny, we can ensure we are protected here in Virginia. Will you pitch in $25 to support our work in electing Democrats in November? The work starts now → ([link removed])
