Today we honor the life and legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King spent his life in pursuit of building a country where everyone was free and equal, no matter their race or background. His legacy inspires so many of us here in his home state of Georgia and across the country to fight for a Beloved Community where everyone is cared for, absent of poverty, hunger, and hate. In a world still riddled with the same evils that Dr. King stood against — voter suppression, white supremacy, hatred, and poverty — we must continue his legacy ourselves and take bold, consistent action for the betterment of our community, especially as we prepare for a second Trump presidency to begin just a few hours from now. It's up to us — all of us — to carry on Dr. King's fight for justice and equality for all, and we’re proud to be in that fight together with you. Georgia Democrats |
