Email from MCRGO MICHIGAN COALITION FOR RESPONSIBLE GUN OWNERS "Promoting safe use and ownership of firearms through education, litigation, and legislation." MONDAY E'NEWS Inauguration Day At noon today, Donald John Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States bringing an end to the most anti-gun administration in the history of our country. Trump will be the second person in American history to serve two nonconsecutive terms. The incoming Trump administration and the new Republican majorities in the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate hold much potential for Second Amendment policy. First and foremost is reform of the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms including a rollback of Biden-Dettelbach gun control measures. We also look forward to federal legislation establishing national carry reciprocity, a Hearing Protection Act that will make it easier to buy suppressors, legislation blocking a federal gun registry, and an end to the budgetary graft that funded gun control organizations and social media censorship. This is in addition to future rulings by a pro-gun majority on the United States Supreme Court following the Bruen decision in 2022. We would not be here today without the work of so many supportive activists and voters who turned out in large numbers this past fall to return President Trump to the White House. MCRGO-PAC assisted NRA-PVF in contacting tens of thousands of voters in Michigan, helping Trump to win the Great Lakes State by 80,103 votes and delivering its 15 electoral votes. Michigan was also the only state to flip a state legislative chamber, ending Democrat's trifecta that allowed them to pass gun control measures in 2022-2023. Trump MSP Fails to Post January CPL Report As of this morning, the Michigan State Police has failed to post a monthly report for January 2025. The most recent report was posted on December 1, 2024. MCRGO telephoned both the MSP Firearms Records Unit and MSP Concealed Pistol License Unit early last week and spoke to two gentlemen. Both were unaware of the monthly report but promised to pass the message on. This is the third time in recent years that the monthly report was not posted during the first week of the month. This instance is the first time the report was not posted within 24 hours of MCRGO calling with a reminder and the longest the Michigan State Police has gone without posting a report. We will provide an update next week if a January report is eventually posted. Introducing Dome IQ Dome IQ is a revolutionary new policy platform for engaged citizens like you!
