John,
I hope you will join me today in remembering all those Arizonans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. From those Arizonans who died at the attack on Pearl Harbor to those who sacrificed themselves for their countrymen in Iraq and Afghanistan, members of our community put their nation above themselves for the sake of us all.
There are opportunities all across our district to engage with the memory of the brave men and women of our armed forces: from Scottsdale’s Thunderbird II Veterans Memorial to the Veterans Memorial in Fountain Hills, there are parks and memorials for those who have served where you can honor their memory safely during the pandemic.
If you want to stay inside, our fellow Arizonans have begun thinking outside the box to pay homage to the fallen. In lieu of its usual flag-in ceremonies, the Pioneers’ Cemetery Association has posted a video online so that we can all engage -- together, though apart.
We’ll get through this -- but we cannot forget to honor those who have protected the America we know and love today.
Stay safe,
Hiral
