In less than 48 hours, Donald Trump will be sworn in as the next president of the United States.
On Day One, Trump has promised to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, roll back Biden's climate regulations on power plants, end the pause on liquefied natural gas exports, revoke waivers allowing California and other states to have tighter pollution rules, and so much more.
Donald Trump will pave the way for the fossil fuel industry to destroy our climate.
The truth is that the United States is one of the biggest polluters on the planet.
And while the emissions from the US and across the Global North fuel the climate crisis all over the world, climate disasters are displacing entire communities and destroying people's homes.
Climate migration will only continue to increase as the climate crisis worsens, and now, when immigrants need our government’s support the most, Trump is planning to launch raids to imprison and deport people seeking safe haven.
The climate movement — and our entire country — needs to stand together in solidarity and fight for the future of our planet, the future of our neighbors, and the ability to have justice in that future.
Donald Trump and the entire fossil fuel industry would love nothing more than for all of us to give up hope, pack it up, and go home. We're not going to let that happen, and we hope you won't either.
