This week is a reminder of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s incredible legacy. He fought, through nonviolent protest and relentless service to his community, for equality of people of color in our communities, and especially at the ballot box.

I am a child of civil rights activists, so the words of Reverend King always anchor me in our purpose - the united struggle for equality and a just democracy.

We all can do our part to manifest the world Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. laid the foundation for. Service to our communities is the starting point to transformative change, and I urge you to volunteer your time, energy, and passion in your community to honor Reverend King’s legacy.
