The 119th session of Congress is underway. Oregonians and Americans are looking to their representatives to make a meaningful difference in their lives by lowering costs, making housing and healthcare more affordable, protecting their rights, fighting climate change, and more.

But instead, House Republicans are continuing their extremist agenda and passing politically motivated legislation that will exacerbate division and not make lives - or the economy - better for their constituents.

The inauguration is tomorrow and we will see a new, unpredictable, vindictive Trump administration. I'm not attending the inauguration this year. Instead, I'll be in Oregon talking with some of the community members who will be most affected by Trump's destructive agenda.

Many are feeling defeated or frustrated, but now is not the time to disengage. Please know that I am not giving up the fight for a better future, and I invite you to join me. And as fragile as it might seem right now, democracy is worth the fight.
