As we face another week of navigating this crisis, I hope that you have been safe and well and have been able to stay connected with family and friends.
As a reminder, please check out our COVID-19 Resource Page for updated information, and join us for our PPE Drive if you are able. We are collecting PPE or food to help our first responders, healthcare workers, essential workers, and anyone fighting on the front lines.
Here is the latest update on our campaign.
Memorial Day
Today, we honor the brave men and women who sacrificed everything to fight for our freedoms. We are forever indebted to these heroes for their sacrifice and we will never forget their devotion. This Memorial Day and every day, we honor their commitment and memory.
Town Hall For this week's town hall, I was joined by Supervisor Michelle Steel. Supervisor Steel is the Chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. She gives us an update on how the county is dealing with COVID-19 and provides us with information on how the county is moving forward to reopen.
HEROES Act Despite bipartisan opposition, the House voted last week on partisan aid legislation that they knew had no chance of becoming law. I have been calling for Republicans and Democrats to work across the aisle, build consensus and put forth a bill that will address the needs of the American people during this pandemic. There is too much at stake to let small partisan differences divide us. We must come together as Americans to address this crisis.
39th District Re-opening
The Orange County and San Bernardino portions of the 39th District have received the green light to move into Phase 2 of the state’s reopening plan. The following businesses are now able to move into the next step of reopening:
✔️Restaurants for limited in-person dining ✔️Retail shopping with social distancing at malls
✔️Offices (when telework is not possible)
✔️Manufacturing
✔️Limited Personal Services

COVID-19 Resources
As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, there are resources and information that can be helpful in staying safe, helping others, and getting help during these hard times. See our COVID-19 resource page to find out more.
Volunteer on Our Campaign During this national health crisis, we have made major changes to our campaign. Our volunteer efforts are now completely online. This allows volunteers to continue to help from their homes. You can sign up to volunteer by contacting Field Director, Taylor Zanazzi at [email protected].
As always, I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Please stay safe and healthy. Though we are eager to start getting back to our lives, please don't forget to do your part in flattening the curve. Please remember to wear a face covering when in public, to protect our community and loved ones. We will come out of this crisis stronger and more united than ever.
