John,
Like many of us this time of year, I'm revisiting the inspiring wisdom of the late Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr.
"If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward."
Martin Luther King Jr. Day has always been a call to action. To honor his legacy, we all must pick up the mantle and keep marching toward a democracy that works for all — not just the wealthy few and the powerful.
Tomorrow, folks around the block are celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day through acts of service. If you're in a position to give back — I encourage you to do so. You can check here for opportunities to take part.
But our civic engagement can't end with this day of service. King proved that it isn't one single person who moves mountains; when we the people fight for change — we win.
I remain committed to forwarding the fight for justice, equity, and peace King championed. And it's why when we march on, we march together.
In solidarity,
Dwight
