Hi friends,

This Memorial Day feels very different, but its purpose remains the same: to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf.

Our military serves us in unimaginable ways every day, both overseas and right here at home. For months now, they’ve been at the front lines of providing coronavirus relief in our communities.

Last year, I attended a memorial service with veterans. It was a profoundly moving experience, and one I often return to as I do my work here at home and in Washington. While we can't meet physically this year, my thoughts are with our veterans and Gold Star families more than ever.

Just as our military commits to leaving no one behind, we must commit ourselves to honoring and aiding our Gold Star families, veterans, and service members today and every day. I hope everyone takes a moment today to think about the service members we've lost and the families and friends they left behind.

Thank you,

Abby Finkenauer
