John,
This Memorial Day weekend sure looks different. I know many of us would usually be headed to barbecues or the beach with family and friends. Instead, this year, we're socially distancing and staying home to help keep each other safe. I know that we're all making small sacrifices as we battle this pandemic, but it's important that we remember the profound sacrifices of others.
Those on the front lines of this fight -- the doctors, nurses, medical staff, grocery store workers, sanitation workers, letter carriers and others -- are often making sacrifices to care for the rest of us. Many are spending time away from their own families and children and putting their own health at risk to save lives.
And, on this Memorial Day, we remember, with gratitude and reverence, those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Across generations, brave men and women have laid down their lives to protect and defend our way of life. We honor their service and their memory today.
Our country has been through tough times before. I know we will get through this one as well, especially if we remember the enormous sacrifices that others have made, and are continuing to make, to protect us. To honor them, we can all do our part to look out for one another -- from wearing our masks in public to caring for the most vulnerable in our communities.
Stay safe, and have a Happy Memorial Day.
God Bless,
Tom
