John,
I hope you’ll join me in taking time this Memorial Day to remember all those who have given their lives in service to our country.
For many of us, Memorial Day is one of the most difficult days of the year. It’s a time to honor the brave men and women who have given their lives for our nation, to remember their sacrifice for all of us. For those that have lost a loved one, it is an unspeakably painful time.
In Congress, I’m dedicated to honoring the memory of the brave men and women who gave their lives to protect our freedoms.
Memorial Day is about honoring those valiant sacrifices. I know firsthand what they mean; it’s why this day has a special place in my heart. When I decided to run for Congress in 2018, I ran with the life experience of being a veteran as well as the son and grandson of veterans. Now every day in Congress, I’m fighting tirelessly to honor the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
This Memorial Day, as a member of the House Veteran’s Affairs Committee, I am renewing my commitment to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice by continuing to fight for our Gold Star Families.
And I’m grateful to have you by my side as we continue to fight for a better future for all of us.
In solidarity,
-- Gil
