LGBTQ+ Victory Institute logo

John,

Victory Institute’s Political Appointments Program - which was renamed in 2024 as David Mixner Political Appointments Program - has seen numerous successes over the decades. But during the Biden-Harris Administration, LGBTQ+ representation in federal appointments reached historic levels.

The Administration saw many firsts: the confirmation of Dr. Rachel Levine as the the first out trans person nominated for a U.S. Senate-confirmed position; Pete Buttigieg to be Secretary of Transportation, making him the first out LGBTQ+ person to be nominated to a permanent position in a presidential Cabinet; Chantale Wong as the first out lesbian and first out LGBTQ person of color in U.S. history to be appointed to an ambassador-level position, along with countless other who faithfully served their government.

Today, our work has expanded, and we continue to fight for equal representation and diverse appointments at all levels of government. If you can support this work with a donation, we appreciate it.

Thank you,

LGBTQ+ Victory Institute
