In a Health Policy brief released this week, Derek Griffith and Andrew Twinamatsiko explore the laws and policies prohibiting the discussion of what the Trump administration labeled “divisive concepts” and their impact on health equity.
Through their research, the authors note:
- Some states used the blueprint of Trump’s executive order and related directives to enact laws further restricting the discussion and teaching of these “divisive concepts” in educational and health policy contexts.
- Education is a prominent battleground for discussion of these “divisive concepts,” in terms of both who is educated and what is taught.
