Last week marked a dramatic shift with the announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which is poised to take effect today. While only a beginning and very fragile, this announcement is welcome news after a far too long delay, and the loss of far too many lives—thanks to the refusal of the Biden Administration to do anything earlier. 

We now have two developments—the shift in Southwest Asia and the inauguration of Donald Trump tomorrow—which underline the dramatic nature of the world we are living in today. Most important to recognize is that the Deep Anglo-American State is increasingly not in control of world events, and thus our opportunity to act has never been greater.

Almost one year ago, The LaRouche Organization put out our proposal for an "Oasis Plan" in Southwest Asia, modelled on the proposal by Lyndon LaRouche in the 1970's. This has never been more relevant than it is now, as the tenuous peace between Israel and Hamas must rapidly be upgraded if it is to become a lasting peace, and therefore an element of serious economic development must begin. We are launching a whole new level of mobilization as we go into this next period.

Additionally, The LaRouche Organization has launched a full assault on the "Liars' Bureau"—the web of intelligence and related agencies which have lied the country into war after war, while at the same time attacking anyone who opposes them. The confirmations of Tulsi Gabbard and Kash Patel are therefore crucial battles if Trump is actually going to be able to combat this entrenched apparatus.

These openings are not stagnant or pre-determined—they are dynamic. The world is experiencing a shift away from the past 500 years of colonialism, and what is done in these coming days will be crucial to transform these openings into a new, post-imperial era of mankind.

Starting At 10am EST! Sunday LaRouche Show - The Lost Chance of 1989, Part 2

Tune in this Sunday (today) at 10:00 am EST, for the second part of the LaRouche movement's "The Lost Chance of 1989" documentary from 2008.

In the Fall of 1989, the collapse of the Berlin Wall signified the beginning of the complete disintegration of the Comecon system. At a press conference in West Berlin in October 1988, LaRouche had proposed the reunification of Germany based on a policy of economic cooperation between East and West to rebuild the ravaged economies of the East Bloc, a cooperation which could have ushered in a completely new era of peace and prosperity.

However, due to the London-Wall Street establishment's brutal suppression of leading figures involved, including assassinations, blackmail, and the imprisonment of LaRouche and many of his associates, any chance of this was dashed. Thus, "The Lost Chance of 1989."

This video tells the story, one we must learn today in order to live up to the opportunity now facing us. LaRouche concludes this video with the following question: "Do we have the ability today to stand up and to reject this threatened crisis as we tried to back in 1989?"

The Oasis Plan: LaRouche's Plan for Southwest Asia

Lyndon LaRouche insisted that there is no purely "political solution" to the conflict in the Middle East, and said this during a speech in 1990: 

The simple reason is, that without a policy of economic development, the Arabs and Israelis have no common basis for political agreement: no common interest. It is only as the Israeli—not as a Zionist, but as an Israeli—finds his or her interest to be the economic development of Israel, as a nation... and the Arab similarly, that both have a fundamental, common interest in the progressive development of the fertility and fecundity of the land of the entire region. On that basis, for the sake of those respective and common economic interests, a political settlement is possible. Without that element, the idea of political settlement is an old fool’s coughing into the wind.

The Oasis Plan is the only realistic approach to resolving the decades old tensions in this region today. Without economic development, in particular a massive increase in the water and power available, then the next war is waiting in the wings. This proposal lays out the basis to change the underlying dynamic leftover from the British Empire nearly 100 years ago.
