Memorial Day is a special day for us to all pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice -- the men and women who have given their lives in service to our country, our freedom, and our democracy.
We must never forget their memories, and we must honor them through action. Our service members should only be sent into harm’s way when it’s absolutely necessary and we should always ensure that our veterans and military families receive the support they’ve earned.
In Congress, I have done everything in my power to make sure that our country honors its promises to our service members, veterans, and families of the fallen.
So I encourage everyone to join me in taking a moment to honor our fallen heroes and express our heartfelt thanks to their families and to the brave men and women who continue to serve in the United States and around the world. Thank you.
