Despite the innumerable obstacles and sadness that COVID-19 has caused in the world, we begin to see a small light of hope.

As you know, many countries (and some states in the U.S.) have decided to gradually resume certain activities of daily living. Of course, with restrictions applied of social distancing and other measures to reduce the possibility of spreading the virus but offers citizens some freedoms.

Stores, recreation, restaurants, bars are being opened in some places… but what about churches? Freedom of worship for the faithful has been severely hindered during this crisis. And that concerns not just me, but also many members of CitizenGO around the world.

We have collected hundreds of thousands of signatures worldwide, asking authorities to re-open churches and allow worship again. We have already obtained important victories. President Donald J. Trump stands boldly with us as he called houses of worship "essential". In Italy and Spain, worship has been restored in the last days.

Even so, in some states and in many countries, churches remain closed and public worship is still forbidden. Including in California, Illinois, and more... where abortion is readily available and liquor stores are open, but their Governors are going after places of worship to remain closed and Pastors criminalized. And, in other states and countries, officials apply hard restrictions to freedom of worship. 

That’s why I would like to ask you to join the next step of our Open Churches Now campaign so that public worship can be restored across the United States and worldwide. 

Can you help this campaign by recording a short video and send it to us? (only a couple of easy steps to follow.)

• Draw a church in the palm of your hand. It is a simple sketch as you can see in this example. You can even draw it in the palm of your child or grandchild.

• Record a video with your cellphone or tablet. The idea is that you open your hand and you can see the church. It should last no more than 5 seconds. Here is an example of some people who have already joined the campaign, it can serve you as a guide for:

• Email it to us. Send your video to us via email to [email protected]. Please do not forget to include your state and country.  

We are going to make a video with people from all over the world asking to reopen the doors of the churches as places of worship. And then, we will send the video to millions of CitizenGOers to make it viral until 100% of churches worldwide are opened.
