It’s been two years since Aruna and I were sworn in to serve the people of Maryland.

This was a very special moment for me and Aruna. The moment symbolized the movement of people who supported our vision for Maryland, and all of the work we’re doing together to make that vision a reality.

Reflecting on the time that has passed since then, I am proud of our accomplishments in the last two years. From protecting abortion rights to passing historic gun safety legislation to increasing economic opportunity, our first two years in office have been eventful.

One thing is on my mind as we start our third legislative session: making Maryland the best place to call home for all of us. We all share this place and it’s a place I know each one of us cares about deeply. This is a place with endless potential if we all collectively work towards that future.
Aruna and I are honored to serve. We’re working hard to deliver on the promises we made and create a state that leaves no one behind. This will be Maryland’s decade.
