Of all the holidays we celebrate here in America, Memorial Day is uniquely special. It is the day we remember and honor the millions of men and women – dating back to the American Revolution – who have laid down their lives in service to our country. They fought for freedom and against tyranny, and the freedom, peace, prosperity, security and strength that we enjoy each and every day – and far too often take for granted – is because of their sacrifice. This is more than just a three-day weekend, it's more than a day to shop the sales, it's more than a day spent at the beach or barbecuing ... it is the day we recognize and thank all those who gave us the freedom do all those things and more in peace.
