Dear Friends of Breathe Southern California:
Due to the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the Breath of Life Awards.
This event, which was originally scheduled for January 30, 2025, will now be held on Tuesday, May 13th, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the SLS Hotel Beverly Hills.
The wildfires have brought significant challenges and losses to many in our community. In light of these events, and out of respect for those affected, including many of you, we feel it’s important to pause and redirect our focus to supporting the recovery efforts and pursuing our work with mindfulness and purpose.
The Los Angeles wildfires have caused immense destruction, with over 40,000 acres consumed and thousands of structures damaged. With the burning of so many structures, and everything that is contained within them, our entire region could face the long-term challenge of addressing air, water and soil pollution caused by the disaster. Breathe SoCal’s mission of promoting clean air and healthy lungs through research, education, advocacy, and technology has never been more important, and the work we are doing to improve air quality and public health, has never been more necessary.
