Today we pause to remember and honor the men and women who have given their lives in service to our country.

Today is personal for me. My father, both my grandfathers, and many uncles all served. I know firsthand the sacrifice our active duty, veterans, and their families make.

We are so grateful for the challenging and courageous work our servicemembers do every day to keep us safe.

I want to personally thank all those who have served, as well as the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our liberty and democracy.

I hope that you will be able to spend some time visiting safely with friends and family this Memorial Day.
