Many Sunday’s come with that feeling of dread for Monday. But tomorrow’s Sunday is going to feel extra… scary.
It’s easy to feel sad, upset, and scared for Donald Trump’s inauguration. I feel it too. When he first won in 2016, I felt such a deep sense of despair. But after wallowing for a bit, I decided to get off the sidelines and run for Congress in my Republican-held district. I wasn’t the only one--all across the country, folks who were new to politics stepped up. From school board races to Congress, in 2018 we elected record numbers of women, people of color, and candidates who didn’t fit the “traditional mold.”
In 2025, we can’t stop fighting. There’s too much at stake.
Taking on Trump feels overwhelming, I get it. But we can all do a small part to better our community.
If you have this Monday off from work in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, consider spending some time in service to others. Below are a few opportunities for Californians to get involved.
