John,
Remember this?
[1]A headline from Forbes detailing the dire economic situation President
Biden inherited from Donald Trump.
In 2021, President Biden took office amid a raging pandemic and inherited
an economy in freefall — just days after insurrectionists stormed the
Capitol in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election.
That’s how it started. But you might be wondering, how’s his term ending?
Take a look for yourself: 👇
✅ Passed a major bipartisan infrastructure package that is rebuilding
America’s roads, bridges, and railways, while expanding access to clean
drinking water, ensuring high-speed Internet access, and much more.
✅ For far too long, Americans have paid more for prescription drugs than
any other developed nation. Under President Biden, the cost of insulin and
10 other life-saving drugs were capped.
✅ Biden’s work to fight for overtime pay, protect millions of pensions,
and stand in solidarity with striking workers has cemented his legacy as
the most pro-labor president in history.
✅ Despite the Supreme Court’s ruling that struck down the administration’s
signature student debt relief program, the Biden-Harris administration
provided student debt relief to more than 5 million borrowers.
✅ As his term ends, President Biden is leaving office with more than 674
million acres of lands and water conserved — more than any other president
before him.
✅ Under their leadership, President Biden and Vice President Harris
established the first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention
and enacted the most significant gun violence prevention legislation in 30
years.
And that's just the shortlist,
John.
Let us be clear: No President or administration is perfect — and there is
still much to be desired from the president’s record.
But we can say that a lot of these victories were accomplished through
progressive organizing and advocacy.
We’ll be honest: we don’t know what to expect in two days. Like anyone else, we
can only make estimated guesses.
But what we do know is that our mission to push for transformative
progressive policies isn’t going anywhere.
As we prepare ourselves for a second Trump presidency, we want to make
clear that we’re in this fight for the long haul — no matter who or what
party occupies the White House. We hope we can continue to count on your
support as we enter this unknown chapter together.
As always — thank you for reading
John.
