John – I want to take a moment to talk about President Joe Biden before he leaves the White House on Monday.

Over the decades, I have known Joe Biden to be one of the finest public servants America has seen. When it came to making decisions of consequence on issues that mattered most to the American people, he has put the nation first.

Because of President Biden, we were able to confirm 235 judges to the federal bench – including the first Black woman and former public defender on the Supreme Court. Our legal system is now more representative of our nation’s people.

On the global stage, he restored faith in America as a world power, a global leader, and a responsive ally that stands up to dictators like Vladimir Putin. But most importantly, President Biden brought decency, civility, respect, and empathy back to the Oval Office.

President Biden inspired hope in millions of people and left a legacy that will shape history. It has been an honor to be his colleague and friend for all of these years.
