Friend,
Every year on the last Monday in May, we -- as individuals and as a nation -- remember those who served and died for the United States. Whether it was a Revolutionary War Patriot ancestor, an uncle who served in World War II, a mother who was a nurse in the Vietnam War, or a sister who served in Afghanistan, we have all been touched by those who put everything on the line.
While we will not be able to gather on this Memorial Day as we usually do, we can still remember our fallen together. Take a moment to visit Veterans Memorial Park in Auburn or the Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Syracuse. Or If you are in Oswego, Cayuga, or Wayne Counties, look to the skies for a Memorial Day flyover.
Most importantly, let us honor their service and their sacrifice by living the values they fought for. By striving for peace rather than continuing to demand the ultimate sacrifice from future generations of servicemembers. By insisting on liberty and equality for all.
Sincerely,
Dana
