In 2024, New Jersey recorded its lowest number of shootings since tracking began in 2009. This remarkable achievement reflects Governor Murphy’s commitment to improving public safety and combatting gun violence.

Working with the state legislature, the Attorney General’s Office, and the New Jersey State Police, we’ve implemented programs like the Gun Violence Reduction Task Force and expanded community-based initiatives that are making a real difference in the lives of New Jerseyans.
