Hello from St. Paul,

State lawmakers returned to St. Paul for “Opening Day” ceremonies at the State Capitol on January 14. I joined 66 other Republican state representatives who were sworn in as members of the Minnesota House for the 2025 and 2026 sessions.

It is truly a privilege to represent you in the Minnesota House. I am excited to bring your priorities to St. Paul and look forward to hearing from you throughout session.

Sadly, House Democrats didn’t share my enthusiasm. Their 66 members have refused to show up at the Capitol, upset that House Republicans now have a majority after one of their members was caught cheating and ultimately chose not to be seated. Unbelievably, they have said they will be collecting their legislative paychecks, so you, the taxpayer, will be on the hook for their political shenanigans.

Regardless of the actions Democrats want to take, House Republicans are moving forward. You elected me to represent your interests in the House, and I am eager to do so. This session I will be fighting to stop the fraud that is running rampant under Governor Walz’s leadership, make your lives more affordable, and make our communities safer. It’s time to get to work.

*COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS*

I recently received my House committee assignments for the next two years, and we began meetings this week. I’m pleased to be serving on the Taxes, Education Finance, and Education Policy committees.

*LOCAL VISITORS*

On Thursday, Senator Bill Lieski and I met with Farmington residents to discuss data center zoning.

This is a topic that has many people talking around Farmington, and Senator Lieski and I will be sponsoring legislation this session to address their concerns. I’ll share more thoughts about that plan next week.

*KEEP IN TOUCH*

As session moves ahead, please contact me with any legislative questions or concerns. I can be reached by phone at 651-296-1069 or by e-mail at [email protected].

Have a great weekend!
