Governor Walz Proposes Curbing State Spending to Balance Budget

On Thursday, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan presented their 2025 biennial budget. [ [link removed] ] The budget includes the first sales tax cut in state history and closes tax loopholes for services offered by wealth managers and lawyers. It also combats fraud and sets Minnesota up for success for years to come by curbing spending growth in the programs that drive the structural deficit.

Governor Walz, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan Announce Minnesota Ranked Top State to Raise a Family

On Friday, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan announced that WalletHub has ranked Minnesota as a top state to raise a family. Minnesota ranked second in WalletHub’s study [ [link removed] ], comparing key factors across all 50 states including family income, housing affordability, health care quality, safety, and school quality.
