Not to worry, the spectacle will still boast by far the largest crowd in the history of presidential inaugurations, so long as you only ask Donald.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Gavin Newsom smacks down Trump and Elon Musk over fire lies
Brian Tyler Cohen met with California Gov. Gavin Newsom at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to discuss the catastrophic wildfires that have upended the lives of tens of thousands of Angelenos, the extraordinary recovery efforts already under way at the local, state, and federal level, and the grave uncertainty that lies ahead with an openly hostile Donald Trump and his mega-billionaire sidekick Elon Musk set to take the reins of the federal government on Monday.

Supreme Court issues ruling upholding nationwide ban on TikTok
A nationwide ban on one of the world's most popular social media apps will go into effect on Sunday, unless Donald Trump directs the Justice Department not to enforce the ban he once championed. TikTok responded to the ruling by posting a video featuring the CEO, Shou Zi Chew, to its official account. "On behalf of everyone at TikTok and all our users across the country, I want to thank President Trump for his commitment to work with us to find a solution that keeps TikTok available in the United States." The clock is, um, tick-tocking...

CNN reportedly looking to bury Jim Acosta in graveyard shift to "throw a bone to Trump"
We are unfortunately bearing witness to the feckless, wholesale capitulation of the fourth estate to a convicted felon whose second term in the White House could very well do irreparable harm to whatever is actually left of our democracy — at precisely the moment when a free and independent press should be proving its mettle and honing its resolve.

Kristi Noem won’t say if she would withhold disaster aid if Trump asks: "Leadership has consequences"
Noted puppy killer and Trump's current nominee for Homeland Security Kristi Noem would not explicitly commit to refusing the MAGA cult leader's “hypothetical” command to withhold disaster aid when pressed during her Senate confirmation hearing on Friday. If confirmed, the current South Dakota governor will lead the third-largest cabinet-level department, which includes immigration authorities and emergency response agencies like FEMA. Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal repeatedly asked whether she would ever withhold aid approved by Congress from states led by Trump's political opponents, pointing to the convicted felon's recent statements about California officials while a series of fires across Los Angeles County torched thousands of acres and killed at least 27 people. "Well, senator, leadership has consequences," Noem replied. What the actual f*ck?
Trump blasts FBI’s now-shuttered DEI office and hints at an investigation ahead of White House return
Just days before he's set to return to the Oval Office, the MAGA cult leader is threatening an investigation of the FBI's recently shuttered Office of Diversity and Inclusion. The agency didn’t provide a reason for shutting down the office last month, but both Trump and his woefully unqualified nominee for FBI director, Kash Patel, have been aggressively negative about diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, so, yeah, that might have *something* to do with it.

American abortion patients put in extreme danger by Trump and his cronies
National Network of Abortion Funds: Abortion rights are under attack by right-wing extremists across the country, and it's about to get a hundred times worse under President Trump and Republican control of the government. That's why Dose of Democracy is working overtime to help raise money for the National Network of Abortion Funds and make sure they have the resources they need to provide care to as many patients as possible before it's too late. Will you make a donation to help those on the front lines of the war for reproductive rights?
Body cam shows St. Louis officers walk away from man found shot, still breathing
Body camera footage shows two St. Louis Metropolitan Police officers walking away from a still-breathing victim of a gunshot wound to the head...because they did not want to take the call. "We aren't taking this (expletive)...I get off in 30 minutes. Let’s cruise around and come back," says one of the cops. As the officers walk away from the dying man, one says to the other, "They’re [other officers] gonna find this (expletive) and we're gonna be like, 'Oh (expletive) you found him.'" The two officers can then be heard laughing on body camera audio. Protect and serve, right?
