John, we all remember earlier this year when Trump brought us to the brink of war with Iran, putting the lives of so many of our servicemembers in danger.

It’s clear that Trump is not fit to serve as our Commander in Chief; every day he’s in office, he risks putting the lives of our servicemembers in danger with his recklessness. That’s one of the many reasons we’re working so hard to defeat Trump in November – to protect all of the women and femmes currently serving in our military.

And, as time goes on, more and more women and femmes are playing an increasingly important role in our military. In fact:

  • In 2016, the Defense Department lifted all restrictions on the roles women can perform in the military.
  • Women servicemembers are consistently more diverse than the civilian population; they’re also more diverse than male servicemembers.
  • In the Army, there are nearly as many black women as white women.
  • In the Air Force and Navy, approximately one in five enlisted members and officers are women.
  • Women now make up approximately 10% of the current veteran population, making them the fastest-growing demographic of veteran.

According to a Pew Research study, women servicemembers have been more critical than their male counterparts of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

And, according to that same survey, 42% of women veterans have reported that they’ve suffered from post-traumatic stress.

The effects of war and conflict on our servicemembers cannot be taken lightly – which is what makes Trump’s outrageous, reckless behavior all that more disturbing, and dangerous.

In these uncertain times, can you sign our card today and thank all of our women servicemembers? Together, let's honor their duty, service, and sacrifice, and let’s do our part to protect them by electing a new Commander in Chief this November.

Thank you for signing and Happy Memorial Day.
