The Texas Values Team on site for the first day of the Legislative Session at the Capitol! |
Texas Values will be at the 2025 Texas Legislative Session every single day fighting for faith, family, and freedom! |
Our team was eager to be present at the Texas Capitol as we look forward to making Texans’ voices heard. While Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations for Texas Values, joined us at the Capitol for most of the day, she is missing in our team photo, as she was on her way to D.C. to cover the crucial Age-Verification Supreme Court Case. |
Yesterday, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton, which involved a Texas law that protects minors from accessing pornography and explicit content online. In 2023, Texas passed HB 1181 by Representative Matt Shaheen, a Faith & Family Champion, that requires pornographic and sexually explicit websites to verify that their users are 18 years of age or older. An adult entertainment non-profit sued, lost, and is now appealing the case at the U.S. Supreme Court.
The Texas Values team was present and participated in the Protect Kids Online Rally in front of the Supreme Court, along with national allies Family Policy Alliance and American Principles Project. Texas Values joined allies in a legal amicus brief to the U. S. Supreme Court supporting the Texas law.
"Viewing pornography as a child can lead to normalizing sexual harm, promoting aggression towards women, and can have a negative impact on healthy intimate relationships." ~ Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations for Texas Values Read more about the Supreme Court case on our webpage.

Special Guest Rep. James Frank discusses with Jonathan Saenz, the work he will be doing during this 89th Session! |
"Dustin Burrows is a conservative guy. He has carried many great, conservative bills; the proof will be in the pudding. He’s got a lot of pressure on him with the way he was able to win the speakership."
"Senator Hughes and I have just filed companion bills to codify parental rights in the TX Constitution." "I’ve been here 12 years and have never seen a Governor be ‘all in’ on an issue…the Lt. Gov. is big on it as well…we have the votes for it." #SchoolChoice
"You and other groups like you should take pride in the fact that you all were early on it (save women’s sports) and it takes time to educate people…that really had an impact, not only on bills that we passed but I think on the presidential race." ~ State Representative James Frank
