Join fellow members of Seattle DSA as we march with coalition partners in the We Fight Back! contingent at the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day march! On Inauguration Day, the people of Seattle will join people everywhere across the country in a nationwide mobilization opposing Trump’s ultra-right, billionaire agenda.

We know we can defeat the Trump program – not by following the Democratic Party establishment, but by building a massive movement against the ruling class and the political system that gives everything to billionaire’s while impoverishing the majority of the population!

Join your fellow social housing supporters as we talk to voters about Proposition 1A at the doors! Door knocking is a great way to reach voters about an issue, and you will be knocking doors alongside folks who have talked to hundreds – some even thousands – of voters.

Door knocking will usually last for a couple hours after a short training session at the beginning about best door knocking practices. You will be paired up with experienced volunteers and talking to voters in areas that are supportive of social housing. After the training we will go off in pairs to talk to voters, then return to the starting area to drop off clipboards and debrief.

The only thing you need to bring is a mobile phone, and why you want to have social housing for your Seattle neighbors 😊

Race and Gender Inclusion Workshop

This workshop seeks to move us forward in addressing cultural issues of Seattle DSA, and reviewing possible solutions for our chapter’s collective liberation project.

The Inclusivity Workshop will be held Sunday, January 19 from 11am to 2pm in an accessible and deluxe location in Capitol Hill. Lunch will be provided.

Emphasis will be on participation by BIPOC, Femmes, LGBTQIA+, and Disabled Members. To ensure balanced participation, white-straight-cis males will be deprioritized in the RSVP process. All interested parties must fill out the RSVP form to receive the location, or request a ZOOM link. The Capitol Hill location will not be released publicly.

UW Young Democratic Socialists of America Kickoff Meeting

The newly revived UW YDSA chapter will be holding their kickoff membership meeting on Friday, January 24th at 5:30 in Smith 306. All UW students and faculty are encouraged to attend. The event will consist of a brief introduction to DSA and YDSA for newcomers and a roadmap for what the chapter hopes to accomplish this year. Dinner will be provided with vegetarian options available.
