Washington, D.C. This week, I was appointed chairman of the Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access. I’m honored to lead this effort and look forward to collaborating with the Trump-Vance Administration and Chairman Williams to cut taxes, slash burdensome regulations, increase access to capital, and eliminate barriers to growth.

Tuesday began with our first Ways and Means Committee hearing of the 119th Congress, during which I continued my efforts to advance pro-growth tax policies that uplift working families and job creators. You can read more about it in my Work of the Week section.

I’m pleased to share I was added to several key subcommittees on the Ways and Means Committee, focusing on tax, trade, oversight, and work and welfare. I’ll use these positions to support tax cuts for North Texans, advance a strong America First trade agenda, and help lift Americans out of poverty.

Later, I voted to pass the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act to defend our daughters and future generations of female athletes. It was great to join Speaker Johnson and Riley Gaines in giving remarks to celebrate the passage of this critical bill. You can click here or on the image below to watch my remarks.

On Wednesday, I voted for the U.S.-Taiwan Expedited Double-Tax Relief Act to reduce our dependence on Communist China by strengthening trade relations with our ally Taiwan.

I was grateful to receive an A+ rating from Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America for my work to protect the unborn.

On Thursday, I supported the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act to deport criminal aliens convicted of sexual offenses and domestic violence. This bill was also passed by House Republicans last year to protect American women and girls, and I hope to see it pass the Senate.

After meeting with North Texas families and medical professionals, including through health-focused roundtable discussions, I introduced the HSA Modernization Act to help make healthcare more accessible by expanding access to health savings accounts for disabled veterans, working seniors, and Native Americans,

This morning, Denton Mayor Hudspeth stopped by our office. I love it when I get to see my fellow North Texans!

On Monday, January 20th, Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance will be inaugurated as our President and Vice President. I'm eager to work with them to get our country back on track!

Texas-24 Work of the Week

I pressed witnesses on how key provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act empowered small business owners, uplifted Americans, and fueled our economy during our first Ways and Means hearing of the 119th Congress.

Texas-24 Hometown Hero

Our Texas-24 Hometown Hero is HerStory Gallery. After owner Tinsley Paul saw the devastating California wildfires, she stepped up and rallied North Texans to donate essential supplies to the victims.
