Are you an active member of DSA? Would you like to see socialism in our lifetime? Do you love to organize? We need you to run for the Metro Detroit DSA Steering Committee! BIPOC, women, and non-binary members are especially encouraged to run.

You can declare your interest in multiple Officer Positions, however if you are elected you can only serve in one Officer Position or as an At-Large member.

Steering Committee terms are one year. The Steering Committee meets once a month on the third Sunday of the month. To run, complete this form by Wednesday, May 27 at 11:59 pm.

You must be a member of DSA in good standing for at least three months prior to the application deadline to be eligible to run. For information on the responsibilities for each role, see Article V in our new Bylaws.

Elections will take place online following our June 6 General Meeting. Register now for the General Meeting! We'll hear from candidates running for seats on the Steering Committee.

At our May General Meeting we voted unanimously to endorse Rashida Tlaib for re-election in MI-13. At the same meeting, we also voted to endorse Abraham Aiyash, who is running for Michigan House of Representatives in district 4, representing Hamtramck and parts of Detroit.
