John,
The House Judiciary Committee just announced it’s cutting its recess break short to return to Washington, D.C., to work on gun safety legislation. They’re focusing on lifesaving bills that are part of Brady’s comprehensive plan, including an assault weapons ban.
"Judiciary Committee to Cut Recess Short to Take up Gun Measures"
John, this is what leadership looks like. And we need to do everything we can to make sure President Trump and Mitch McConnell take note.
Members of the House are listening to voters. They know that right now is an urgent moment to address gun violence in America. They know that with mass shooting after mass shooting, Americans can’t afford to wait for solutions any longer.
Meanwhile, President Trump and Mitch McConnell are responding to shooting massacres by pushing dangerous and distracting myths about video games and mental health. We need to fight this.
Chip in now: Help us demand Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell follow the House’s lead and call the Senate back into session to address gun safety! >>>
Things are going in a dangerous direction. Just yesterday, Trump told reporters in New Hampshire that the solution to gun violence is for America to open more mental institutions. Trump is bending over backwards and doing everything he can to avoid naming the actual problem: easy access to guns.
Can I count on you to make a contribution right now to help us stand up to Trump and McConnell? >>>
We at Brady know what’s fueling mass shootings in America. It’s not video games. It’s not mental illness. Right now, it’s leaders who are siding with the gun lobby and putting profits over our lives. Enough.

Vice President of Policy
